    Panel Discussion: Musicians’ Health Through a Performing Career

    This event is free and open to the public, and part of Musicians' Health Awareness Week! If you're experiencing a mental illness or playing-related injury yourself, have in the past, and/or want to learn more about what musicians' health is and how to keep yourself healthy throughout your career, performing-related or not, this panel discussion is for you.

    Panelists include: Dr. Isabelle Cossette, director of CIRMMT; Russell Devuyst, trumpet professor at McGill; Renée Yoxon, jazz vocalist; and Yolanda Bruno, violinist. Come hear their stories about health throughout their careers!

    McGill Jazz Orchestra II mid-term concert, under direction of Ron Di Lauro, featuring several guest vocalists: Renée Yoxon, Alexandra Barrasso, Asia Harvey-Wright, Ruthie Pytka-Jones, Émilie Samson, Kyla Smith.

    Tanna Hall Accessibility Info: Tanna Hall is fully wheelchair accessible with access to seating in the back of the auditorium available on the second floor. There is no accessible parking open to the public but there is one accessible street parking spot across the street on Sherbrooke and one around the corner on Aylmer.

    Renée Yoxon Jazz Vocal Masterclass

    On Sunday, March 12, from 3pm to 5pm, Renée will be giving a vocal jazz masterclass in the heart of downtown Toronto at 120 Diner. Eight participants will have the opportunity to perform one or two tunes with a professional accompanist and be critiqued.

    Suitable for singers of all levels of experience. Some jazz knowledge is recommended. Participants will be required to bring their own charts. (Please contact us in advance if you need assistance preparing charts.) Auditing tickets will also be sold for those who wish to attend the masterclass without participation.

    At 6pm Renée Yoxon will be performing a tribute to David Frishberg with the funniest jazz singer Toronto has to offer, Ilana Waldston. Those who wish to attend both the workshop and the show will be able to purchase packages and save money on both!
