Four interviews to share

Things are quickly wrapping up for me here in Ottawa and sooner than you can say “Big Apple” I’ll be settling into an apartment in Brooklyn. It’s been a whirlwind of a week and I’d like to share with you some of the interviews I’ve taken part in.

If you’re curious about my trip to New York, I sat down with Peter Hum from jazzblog.ca and answered all the important questions like “why are you going?” and “what are you doing there?” You can read all that and more here: Five questions for a Brooklyn-bound Renee Yoxon

Stay tuned to jazzblog.ca tomorrow morning to see my picks for this year’s Ottawa International Jazz Festival.

Alayne McGregor from OttawaJazzScene.ca interviewed me, Lucas Haneman, and Nathan Cepelinski about My First NAC, an award program and concert series that celebrates young, talented musicians in the Ottawa area who have taken part in the National Arts Centre’s education program. You can read the interview with all three of us here: ‘My First NAC’ recognizes three promising Ottawa jazz artists

Finally, tomorrow morning Lucas Haneman and I will be interviewed and performing on CBC Radio 1’s in Town and Out and Michael Bhardwaj. You can catch the interview/performance on Saturday, June 25th between 8:30 am and 9:00 am at 91.5 fm or online here.

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading all about me! If you want to catch my last few performances before I leave, I will be performance at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 25th at noon on the Rendez-Vous Rideau Jazz Stage. More details courtesy of OttawaJazzScene.ca here. I will also be performing at the Metropolitain Brasserie on Sunday, June 26th from 11 am until 2 pm with Rob Martin on guitar and Mark Fraser on bass.
