highlights: sister time at arterie boutique

My sister came to visit me! Hooray! Emma has been living in Toronto getting her masters and I have missed her terribly so we planned a little Montreal hang.

The weather was so beautiful we decided to drive to the Mile End and follow our noses. We got a coffee from Café Olimpico, tried on vintage glasses at Maison Montures, and smelled delicious spice blends at Spice Station.

We spent the balance of our morning trying on clothes at Arterie Boutique and Friperie. They have a beautiful selection of vintage and boutique label clothing. It was so much fun to try on beautiful dresses and jackets and play with their black cat, Pedro (who is up for adoption if you are looking!) In the end, I came out with a little zippered clutch that is actually a tiny nail kit. I’m a sucker for nail care items and I can never make up my mind about clothes, so I wasn’t surprised by my decision. Classic me.

On Sunday, Emma and I drove back to Ottawa and had late-Thanksgiving with my family. My parents were away for regular Thanksgiving so it was really nice to finally get the whole family together. It’s so strange that we’re all growing up and going our separate ways. It was lovely to sit down and have a meal together.

  1. Aww, Renee. This makes me happy! I just love family time. I only get to see mine a few times a year and so whenever we do… I cherish those moments. So I always love to hear how important family is for others. <3 So happy you were able to spend quality time with them!

I’m happy I could be a part of your highlight. 🙂 I had a great time hanging with you, watching movies, knitting and talking science. Now it’s your turn to visit me!
