Original Song: Hard Times

This is a song that I wrote after the events in Charlottesville last weekend. I am angry about the rise of white nationalists and I think we all need to do something to show that we won’t stand for it. Protest, call your representatives, donate to organizations fighting for the cause, and spread the message. Do everything you can and do it now!

If you’re interested in covering this song, here are the lyrics and chords changes:

C
These times are hard times
          F                                                               G
When hate is strong and knocking at your door
C                          F        Fmi
But in these times we must rise
C                 G                    C
For it isn’t just a protest it’s a war

C  CMaj7 C7  C6   F
If you’re not angry have you gone to sleep?
G                                           C
Well wake up for the fight’s already begun
C  CMaj7 C7  C6   F
The night’s on fire but we still can’t see
Fmi                    Cmi                  C
So be the light, be the movement, be the love

C
These times are hard times
F                                                               G
When hate is strong and knocking at your door
C                          F        Fmi
But in these times we must rise
C                 G                    Cmi   Csus2  G   C
For it isn’t just a protest it’s a war
