Renee’s 2012 Ottawa Jazz Festival Picks

Hello lovelies! It’s that time of year agaaaaain! I’m so excited, I just got my jazz festival pass today and finally had a chance to peruse the incredible lineup they are presenting this year. I thought you might be interested in what I’m planning on seeing. Of course I’ll probably see way more than what’s on this list but here are the shows I will be at for sure.

Friday, June 22:
  • 7:00pm The Liane Carroll Trio at the NAC 4th Stage
  • 9:00pm The Fellowship Band at the Canal Stage
Saturday, June 23:
  • 7:00pm Gretchen Parlato at the NAC Studio
  • 8:30pm Janelle Monáe at the Canal Stage
Sunday, June 24:
  • 7:00pm Hélène Labarrière Quartet at the the NAC 4th Stage
Monday, June 25:
  • 7:00pm Dave Douglas & Joe Lovano at the NAC Studio
Tuesday, June 26:
  • 7:30pm Ziggy Marley – Wild & Free Tour at the Canal Stage
  • 9:00pm Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers at the Canal Stage
Wednesday, June 27:
  • 7:00pm Frisell Plays Lennon at the NAC Studio
  • 8:30pm Esperanza Spalding Radio Music Society at the Canal Stage
Thursday, June 28:
  • 7:00pm Becca Stevens Band at the NAC 4th Stage (I will have to miss this one because I will be playing at Café Paradiso that night but I encourage you to go see her before you come out and see me)
Saturday, June 30:
  • 7:00pm Colin Stetson at the NAC 4th Stage
  • 7:00pm Renée Yoxon & Mark Ferguson at Brookstreet Hotel 🙂

Also, I will most likely be at the Late Night Jam every night too. Obviously this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the awesomeness that is the Ottawa Jazz Festival so if you have a second go here and check out the lineup and make your own list!
