we’re moving to montreal!

Yes, the time has finally come for Craig and I to try and make it in another city. We’re sad to leave Ottawa, especially our friends and family and the community that has supported us for so many years, but we’re also excited at the prospect of new friends, new challenges, and new experiences that await us in Montreal.

All that said, we have not found an apartment yet and we could really use your help! We are looking for a ground floor or second floor, 3 bedroom apartment for $1200 or less. We would love to live in the mile end of parc extension but we have a car so if the right place became available we would consider living further out. If you know of any places like this that are available September 1st, please please contact me!

Now, I’d like to preemptively answer some of your questions:

Q1. Wha? Huh? ….why?? This is so sudden!

I know, but Craig and I have been planning on moving to Montreal for some time now. Someday I’d like to back to school and when I do, that’s where I want to be. We were going to wait another year before moving but we decided to bite the bullet instead.

Q2. But what about your students in Ottawa? Will you simply cast them out into the cold night air?

No. We are planning on doing a “soft move” where we return regularly to maintain our commitments in Ottawa. We will be back every week to teach students, do performances, and participate in running IMOO.

Q3. What will happen with Live Jazz Monday?

As I mentioned, I’ll be back every week. I plan to line my visits up with Live Jazz Monday so that I don’t miss a single one! Don’t worry!

I think that just about covers all the major concerns. If you have any other questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below.
