If you have been considering modifying your voice to align better with the gender presentation that you want to put out into the world, I just want to give you permission to do that. I see a lot of students who have this feeling like changing their voice is fake or it's inauthentic, or people are going to judge them or think something about them, but I just want you to know that you have one life. You can do whatever you want with that life. And if that means you want to get a haircut or dye your hair or wear your party shirt or change your makeup or change everything about your personal style or the job you have or change your voice, you are allowed to do so.

It is not inauthentic to make choices that bring you closer to who you are. So if you needed to hear it today, you have my permission to take the steps that you need to take in order to be happy.
