July 2021 Tiktok Compilation

trans voice Jul 31, 2021

Hello, lovelies! This month's compilation is just a mini-one since I was so swamped with course prep that I was only able to make tiktoks in the last ten days of July.

I made a mistake in one of my videos that made me so hot and red with embarrassment that I had to take it down immediately and issue a correction video! Before I tell you what the mistake is, I should note that this is a perfect example of something that is a huge deal to me but absolutely NO ONE ELSE AT ALL CARED!

It's funny how that happens sometimes. I was ready to die of shame but not a single person pointed out my mistake.

So what was this mistake?? I referred to the false folds as the "vestigial" folds instead of the "vestibular" folds.

GASP! I know. Shocking. I call myself a professional.

I don't know how long I had been making this mistake because when I looked back at my course, I noticed that I made the same mistake there! D'oh!!

Luckily it was a pretty easy fix as I only said the word twice in 5+ hours of course footage, thank goodness!

After the shame and embarrassment subsided, I was actually pretty grateful for this mistake. I'm not really much of a perfectionist but I had been feeling myself sliding into perfectionist thinking as I was making this course. I really want to do a good job! But this mistake reminded me that great is the enemy of good and a few mistakes are not going to sink the whole ship.

In my follow-up tiktok, I made direct reference to my mistake because I think it's important to let people see you in all your imperfections, especially online when everything can be curated and airbrushed and made to look as if people never falter. But we do! It's okay to make mistakes!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this mini-compilation and I hope to get a longer one out to you next month :D
