Unveiling My Next Trans Voice Course: The Results Are In!

mix & match: designing your nonbinary voice nonbinary voice Jan 15, 2024
My next trans voice course will be...

Hey there, it's Renée, your friendly neighbourhood gender-affirming voice teacher! I've been on quite a journey over the past two years, creating an array of free and paid resources for my incredible trans community. It all began with Trans Vocal Exploration, a course with a little something for everyone, followed by Mindful Voice Feminization and Masculinize Your Voice Without Testosterone, delving deeper into voice feminization and masculinization.

If you caught my birthday post a few weeks back, you're aware that I had a myriad of ideas for my next resource. So, what did I do? I ran a poll in my newsletter to let my subscribers decide, and the results are finally in!

The Winning Choice: A Nonbinary Speaking Voice Course!

Drumroll, please! The most popular choice among my fantastic subscribers is a Nonbinary Speaking Voice Course! As a nonbinary individual myself, I am beyond thrilled to explore the nuances of nonbinary trans voice work with you all.

This new course, set to launch in May, promises to be a unique journey into the world of nonbinary voices. If you're eager to stay in the loop and be the first to know when it's live, make sure to join my newsletter by clicking this link!

Oh, and dear reader, your input is invaluable to me! If you have other brilliant ideas or specific resources you'd like me to create this year, drop me an email or a comment on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. Your voice matters, and I'm here to tailor my content to your needs.

Why Nonbinary Voice Work Matters

Before we dive into the course details, let's chat about why nonbinary voice work is so significant. As a nonbinary person, I've navigated the complexities of finding my authentic voice in a world that often adheres to binary expectations.

Nonbinary individuals often find themselves in a unique position, either straddling the line between traditional gender norms or creating voice goals that defy gender norms entirely. The exploration of a nonbinary speaking voice goes beyond conventional feminization or masculinization, aiming to capture the fluidity and individuality of each person's gender expression and experience of gender.

My Personal Connection to Nonbinary Voice Work

As someone who identifies as nonbinary, this upcoming course holds a special place in my heart. I'll be drawing not only from my professional expertise as a gender-affirming voice teacher but also from my personal experiences and reflections on my nonbinary journey.

Expect insights, anecdotes, and a deep dive into the emotional and practical aspects of cultivating a voice that aligns with your nonbinary identity. It's not just about pitch and resonance; it's about embracing the authenticity of your sound in a world that is gradually recognizing the beauty of gender diversity.

What to Expect from the Nonbinary Speaking Voice Course

Now, let's get into the nitty-gritty of what you can anticipate from this exciting new course:

1. Inclusive Approach

This course is designed with inclusivity at its core. I understand that nonbinary experiences vary widely, and the content will reflect the diverse spectrum within the nonbinary community. From language choices to exercises, every aspect will be crafted to honour the unique journey of each participant.

2. Exploration of Many Vocal Characteristics

While pitch and resonance are essential components of voice work, this course will take a holistic approach. We'll explore how these elements and more can contribute to a nonbinary speaking voice, allowing you to find a balance that feels genuine and affirming.

3. Emotional Exploration

Voice work isn't just about the technicalities; it's also a deeply emotional experience. This course will help you to tackle the big feelings that come up during your practice, both positive and negative. It will also look at how we can balance our goals and desires with the reaction that our voice elicits from a population that may not even be aware of nonbinary genders.

4. Practical Exercises and Tips

Expect a toolkit of practical exercises and tips tailored specifically for nonbinary voice development. Whether you're just starting your journey or looking to refine your existing skills, these resources will guide you through the process.

Stay Tuned and Share Your Thoughts!

I am absolutely delighted to create this course! If you're as excited as I am, make sure to join my newsletter for timely updates and exclusive insights.

And don't forget, your voice matters. If you have suggestions for additional resources or other courses you'd love to see this year, drop me an email. Let's create a community where every voice is heard and celebrated!
