Learn to teach trans voice alteration in 5 weeks with gender-affirming voice teacher, Renée Yoxon

Guess what?? By popular demand, I am bringing back my new teacher training course, Learn to Teach Trans Voice Alteration in 5 Weeks!

The last cohort of this course ran in November and December with an absolutely stellar group of teachers.

It was truly one of the most affirming and inspiring 5 weeks of my life!

Here's a screenshot of most of the group during one of our live classes:

This year's first cohort will run from February 17th until March 17th inclusive.

I've updated the registration page to reflect new dates and times of the upcoming cohort.

Registration opens on Monday, January 31st.

Mark your calendars because space is limited!

Here are the answers to a few questions I regularly get asked about this training:

Q1: Do I need to be trans to take this training?

Definitely not! In our last cohort, we had a diverse mix of cis, trans, gender non-conforming, and questioning teachers who were all learning from and supporting one another.

Q2: What kind of voice professionals can take this course?

All kinds! My background is in singing but our last group had singing teachers, speech-language pathologists, performers, students, and more.

Q3: After I take this course, how do I begin finding trans voice alteration students?

This will vary from community to community but when you successfully complete this course you will receive a certificate of completion (see below), a badge to display on your website, and a profile in my new catalogue of certified teachers, which is regularly disseminated to my list of over 2000 trans voice students!

Camille Rogers is a teacher and professional opera singer who successfully completed the Learn to Teach Trans Voice Alteration in 5 Weeks when I ran it last year.

Here is what they had to say about the course:

"This was such a lovely and encouraging learning space. For me as a non-binary trans person, it felt really great to connect with other trans people, but it was also very reassuring to connect with the cis members of the group, who were so open to learning. It made me feel hopeful about the future!

The whole course helped give me a lot of confidence that the practices I'm already using and the understandings I already have are in alignment with other practitioners I respect. I will definitely be using this in my future practice. I really hope to be able to offer this kind of gender-affirming voice practice alongside singing lessons. I think it may be my Calling :)"

As I said before, registration opens in one week's time, on Monday, January 31st. If you'd like to be the first notified when the doors open, sign up for my teacher mailing list on the training registration page: https://www.reneeyoxon.com/teach-trans-voice

If you have any questions about the training, email them to [email protected].

Looking forward to the next cohort of this training!!
